Meet Crystal, the Founder of The Psychic Soul

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by one of my favorite digital magazines, Canvas Rebel recently. Within the article, we do a deep dive into who I am and the passion behind creating The Psychic Soul. For me, it's very difficult to talk about myself and to be so vulnerable. However, what kind of Changemaker would I be if I encourage all of you to go into the discomfort to find growth and a higher version on yourself?

Crystal thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Crystal: In today’s ever-changing times, no matter what professional field you are in or where you are in your personal life, metaphorically and figuratively, I find what fills my heart is to help others learn how best to step into the highest version of themself. By doing so, this automatically places anyone in a place of empowerment and within the divine flow of abundance.

This is so meaningful to me because I was raised within the generation of ‘you are to be seen but not heard’. When I did speak, it had to be ‘appropriate’ conversation. With that, I was an ‘obedient’ and stellar child and young adult, in my family structure, school and society.

Once I was of a professional adult age, I quickly realized I had no voice. I didn’t know who or what I was and I was fiercely co-dependent. Not knowing how to make any viable decisions for myself.

It took me until my mid-30’s to have the strength to start to educate myself on my voice and standing up for who I am. It took a failed, abusive marriage for me to come to terms with this. Within my search for self, I discovered that it’s a holistic approach that works best for me. Mind body soul and heart. It’s a circle of continuous self discovering, healing, shifting and transforming.

Along this journey, I learned so many tools to help myself then naturally friends, family and community were drawn to the inner work I was doing and I started to share my heart and growth stories. First it was in my long time career of being a private flight attendant out of Southern CA, in which crew members and clients were drawn to my shifting energy and teachings. It was a natural progression to create a business around it, providing me with autonomy, complete liberation and heart centered work.

It’s my greatest honor to be of service during these ever evolving times when so many are stuck in the chaos and imbalance in life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I had a 22 year aviation career as a flight attendant. I started out flying commercial and then after September 11th, I migrated into flying private for the world’s elite out of Southern CA. It was within this space that I realized crew members and clients were intrigued with my energy. Often ‘needing’ after flight sessions to debrief for crew members and inflight, clients would invite me to sit down so I could hear their life stories and challenges in life. It was exhausting. I felt like I was working 3 different jobs. I was energetically drained with the realization that no one asked about me or who I was and I felt like I had really important things to share with the world but I didn’t know what that was yet. I also could see that people felt safe in sharing with me, this has been a key component to the success of my business.

I’ve spent the last 15 years discovering myself and seeking holistic; mind body soul and heart tools to aide, guide and expand myself. It has been within this self-healing phase that I discovered this was my soul’s purpose. On a very challenging work trip, I spent 2 days in Washington DC balling my eyes out. Feeling so disempowered in life and I just didn’t know what to do with myself anymore. I was told where I would be and when 24/7/365 for 22 years. I couldn’t do it anymore. On the flight from DC to LA, I quietly packed all my things up on the plane that I had been in charge of for the last 6 years and the family that I had created with the owner of the plane and my crew. I never returned.

I had enough savings for a year. I took some of those savings to pay for 18 months of intense psychic development training with a world renowned psychic healer. I quickly became his protege and started providing psychic readings and teaching psychic development within 6 months of training. My business clientele grew quickly and I was more amazed than anyone else at this. It’s only now that I look back on it and realize this is what I had been doing my entire adult life, except it was on airplanes or in foreign cities.

Within a year, my mentor and I created a popular Metaphysical Podcast that was featured on George Noory’s GaiaTV show, Beyond Belief. From there, the moon cycles had been calling me. I didn’t know why yet. I started searching for Full and New Moon guided meditations and at the time, couldn’t find anything that worked for me. I decided that I would write and record my own, to guide myself. Once I did this, I had a divine thought of ‘why not create a YouTube meditation channel?’ and see if anyone else could benefit from them. I had no idea what I was birthing but as of today, I have 85,000 YouTube subscribers and growing with the most amazing transformational and life changing stories from my fellow meditators.

This has become my true soul’s purpose. Guiding others through energy movement to let go to grow! It fills my heart immensely! From that, another branch of the tree grew and it’s my latest and very exciting membership of: Manifesting Under the Moon. It’s a collaboration between myself, my sister Aurora Heinemann and my niece, Dori Edwards! We have all come into our own and complement each other with our various holistic expertise in energy movement. We offer a powerful monthly membership with live new moon manifesting circles, new and full moon guided meditations, live weekly gentle and fusion yoga, intuitive dance release, signing custom mantras to open up our powerful voices, cosmic herbal tea blends, live energy check ins and also our powerful remote energy healing and distance reiki sessions each new and full moon. We have been overwhelmed with the love from our members and how they feel seen, heard and loved within our community. What an honor!

I currently offer sacred group readings and healing circles, a limited number of psychic sessions, a transformational step-by-step online certified Psychic Development course, a Meditation Library of various guided, timed and breath work meditations, affirmations, mantra’s, sound baths, solfeggio sound healing tracks, workshops and more! I work from my heart and offer a safe, loving, non judgmental environment. My hope is that all of humanity steps into their personal power, whatever that looks like for every single person.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I want to begin by saying I have no professional marketing or business background! Everything that I have created has evolved from listening to my inner guidance system. If you have the mindset that you can’t start or grow your audience and business because you don’t have experience, I am here to tell you- YES YOU CAN!

In my previous career as a private flight attendant, I had to sign NDA’s (non-disclosure agreements) for every single client I ever flew. I was even removed from a potential long term flying job with one of the most well known film and television producers because I once posted my location of a big town we flew into on social media. It was like pinning New York City with no other information and I was told I would not be considered further for the job due to the sharing. With that, I had pretty much no social media history or experience and I was very uncomfortable with sharing my life or anything personal. Once again, my voice had been shut down.

I first created a podcast before podcasts were popular with my mentor called Metaphysical Q & A. We did this for fun, it filled our hearts! What we didn’t know was that it would be highlighted on an episode of GaiaTV and the popularity grew. I mention this because I believe this is one of the most important aspects of growing an audience: not to do it to grow an audience. I know, life is so complicated, isn’t it? Instead follow your heart, joy and bliss. What inspires you and fills you up with vitality? Those are the things to share.

My next big boost was discovering at the time that there weren’t any viable moon cycle guided meditations. I took this opportunity to create specific moon cycle guided meditations and created a YouTube channel for them. I had no traction for 2-3 years but kept at it, consistently. The truth was, I was creating them for myself and I had the mindset that if they impacted just one person, this filled my heart and was also free marketing, so why not? Around the pandemic, they took off and I’ve been building my channel since then.

Creating my meditation YouTube Channel, unknowing to me at the time, has been the greatest free marketing tool! Each meditation usually pulls in upwards of 40k + new listeners and no professional marketing company could have done that for me. It now feeds all aspects of my business while I’m helping humanity!

Follow your heart and inner guidance system and your audience will come!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A hard lesson for me to learn has been to use discernment when choosing to partner and/ or collaborate with others. This one was a very hard lesson for me to learn and unlearn and one that still breaks my heart and goes against my personality. I generally tend to take people for their words and actions. As a creative and sensitive, the hard truth is some people will come in as false prophets along with not practicing what they preach, if you will.

Unfortunately, it takes time and experiences to learn the truth. For me, I’ve openly worked on 3 major projects with partners/ collaborators and they have ended badly. I’ve learned to use discernment. To also write contracts, by-laws and have everything in writing.

With spiritual and metaphysical work, for me- it feels ‘against the grain’ but it’s the hard truth. Always use discernment and it’s ok to have contracts, boundaries and expectations in writing. This is your business! It matters!
